About the Author
Andrew J. DuBrin is Professor Emeritus of Management in the E. Philip Saunders College of Business at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he served as department chairman and team leader. Dr. DuBrin has taught courses and conducted research in leadership, management, organizational behavior, and career management. He presents at other colleges, career schools, and universities. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology from Michigan State University. Dr. DuBrin has experience in human resource management and is a business and personal consultant in career management, leadership, and management development. Dr. DuBrin is an established author of both textbooks and trade books, and he contributes to professional journals, magazines, newspapers, and online media. He has written textbooks on management, leadership, organizational behavior, human relations, political behavior in organizations, and impression management. His trade books address management issues from charisma, team play, and office politics to overcoming career self-sabotage, and coaching and mentoring.

The Book is not well made

This is a good text book that unfortunately has a problem with the way it is made. After the first couple of weeks the book started to separate and the glue job appears to be substandard.
I take care of my books (sell some back, keep the others) I would have liked to keep this one but the publisher did a lousy job.
I wrote the publisher with my complaints and they have not bothered to respond.
Dont buy this book unless you have to.

Kindle Edition - Missing Resources

I'll keep this short and simple as possible.
The content of this book is good. It's been a pleasant surprise to read through compared to other management and leadership textbooks that I've used in my degree program. The self-assessment exercises are good, and have raised my awareness of how I go about managing and leading. I think that's the point of the book, right?
The thing I don't like about this electronic addition is that almost every chapter has a page which reads "Text not available due to copyright restrictions". This is a great example of what is wrong with the textbook publishing industry here in the United States. Forget the fact that I paid $150 for the electronic version while the textbook publishers incurred zero extra expenses in preparing, printing, shipping and selling me the book. My problem is that I'm purchasing a copyrighted work from a publisher who cannot acquire the rights to all the materials they're indeed trying to print within this book. I suppose it would be too much to expect Cengage Publishing to take a little less icing on top of their cake and purchase the rights to reproduce and sell a complete product. It's a complete joke.

Missing Cases

I purchased this as a digital book for my Kindle for PC. I thought it would be less expensive and easier to carry around than the hardcopy. Little did I know that some of the Cases in the book are not available due to copyright issues. This is a big issue for me because I had to use the book for a class and the case we were to analyze was not available for me read. When I purchase a book I expect all the content.
